22 year old female 5 foot 6 inches 145 lbs, no hx of chronic disease or surgery. Sinus infection treated in January with Antibiotics, symptoms persisted. Leading into the end of may symptoms became worse. Ceiling at work caved in at work releasing insulation (containing fiber glass), I was the cleaning crew. I did get fiberglass on my skin, but washed off (no wiping or brushing it off). No masks were provided, high probability I inhaled it. Parents chain smokers from age 5-17, I visited recently their home and my symptoms flared up. I originally thought it was pharyngitis from the irritation of the smoke. I have a unrelenting headache, sinus pressure not relieved by Sudafed Pain and Pressure (on my second box in 3 weeks), pain in my ears, under my eyes, between my eye brows, above my eye brows, clavicle area, and at the base of my neck. The sour smell in my nose will not go away. I'm almost positive that's an indicator of a infection. I'm curious if I should be worried about the fiber glass inhalation (long term effects) and if I possibly developed allergy asthma to smoke? This chronic sinus problem is keeping me up at night. The post nasal drip makes it hard to sleep. I am looking to schedule an appointment with my primary this week (I'm in nursing school and have 12 hour days monday through friday), but I just also want to make sure that symptoms I have listed are not an indication of orbital infection starting or possible spread of the infection that requires me to go to the ED. I have checked my temp but it was 100 last week 2 days when I was having the throat issues and hoarseness from the smoke. It's hard to tell if I'm having a fever or just hot because the AC is not working on campus or I'm working and moving around too much. I have increased my fluid intake to help loosen secretion and have manually been relieving pressure on my sinuses. The pain in my neck is close to the base of my skull, it does not radiate to my temples like a tension headache.
