2 Pointy Bones, One Felt Bigger Than The Other. Is It Normal ?

my baby is 5 months old. Since she was born, that 2 pointy bones (mstoid process?) one felt bigger than the other. My doctor said it was normal, she is growing and it grows proportional to her, but it is very noticeble that the right side is bigger than the left. Now that she is loosing hair , you can see that pointy shape on the right side. Is it normal?

Hi Iureneball,

Underdeveloped mastoids in children is normal and unequal size of the mastoid is also normal, no need to worry. I would advice you to wait and watch for few more years.

Regards
Dr. Naveen Kumar
