16 Year Old Feeling Sporadic Stomach Pains, Nausea, Bloating And Frequent Burping. Severe Weight Loss. Is Anything Wrong?
Hi I m a 16 year old male and for the last couple weeks I have been experiencing sporadic stomach pains and nasea. The stomach pains don t last for more then 5-10 minutes. I get a bloated feeling and i have been experiencing very airy burps. Along with that I have also lost 16 pounds in these last two weeks. I was 148 two weeks ago and now I only weigh 132.
my first question is that are u a frequent outside eater, meaning having hotel or canteen food, if so u have to be evaluated for H.pylori infection, dont worry it is a simple bacteria which causes overt gastritis to make it very easily understandable. second thing i wud like u to get evaluated with an ultrasound abdomen or even an upper GI endoscopy. weight loss is quite significant and wud suggest u that u see a doctor as soon as possible because general physical examination can rule out many things.
At your age and with your weight a number of things come to mind. Though it is good to lose weight but loosing 16 pounds in two weeks needs to be examined. I suggest you consult a doctor who shall take a detailed history of your dietary habits, examine you and get you investigated accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction. Please feel free to revert back in case you need some clarification or want to share more details.
