16 Weeks Pregnant, Hole In Eardrum, Hearing Loss. Tubes Inserted In Ears. Treatment Options?
I am 16 weeks pregnant and my primary doctor found out that I have a hole in my eardrum ... I am not in any pain just having some hearing loss . I have a tube in my ear also, and have had at least 2 ear infections in my ear for the last 30 years. I ve had tubes in my ears 6 times in my life. What will/can my ENT doc do for the ear?
Since you are pregnant, you do not have to worry about the ear problem as it can wait. After delivery you must consult an ENT who will: 1. Do a complete proper examination and tell you about the state of the ear drum and the tubes 2. He will then perform a complete audiometric analysis and decide on the next course of action 3. he may also ask for the CT of the temporal bone to understand the state of the ear and the small bones called the ossicles
Since you have multiple tubes, the doctor may think in the lines of a permanent surgery to control or better your hearing loss
take care and have a safe delivery first!!
