1.5 Year Old, Urine Infection. Reflux Test Done, Left Pelvis Dilated. Giving Septran. Suggestions?

Hi, My 1.5 year old daughter had urine infection twice within 2 weeks , so we went for KUB u/s.
It shows left renal pelvis dilation. 2 months ago, AP dimension was 2.5 cm,
after that we did MMU (reflux test) for her , that was normal , no reflux was seen.
as per docter advice, we r giving her septran for almost 3 weeks, now we had KUB u/s again,
no AP dimension for Left renal pelvis is 1.5 cm.

Please advice me the rigth process, i shhould follow now, what is causing it?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.
The common cause for renal pelvis dilation is obstruction at the junction of kidney pelvis with ureter.
I advise you to continue Septran as per the prescription and consult the urologist for further opinion.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.

Pediatrician Dr. Vikash Kumar Kedia's  Response
Left renal pelvis dilatation with recurrent UTI warrants long term prophylaxis of an antibiotic to keep urine sterile.septran is one of the two antibiotic for this prophylaxis.so continue with it.dont worry with growing age and continuing prophylaxis this problem will be solved.
