1.5 Year Old Son, Pale Yellow Stool With Undigested Milk, Constipation After Stopping Milk. Suggestions?

My one and half year old son is passing stools that are very pale yellow along with undigested milk, ( white granules like substance). If I stop giving him milk and continue with other foods, he constipates. He already has the constipation problem. I tried to give gym econorm, but he does not drink it. What can be done?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

At present he is having gastroenteritis.

The main stay of treatment is to give oral rehydration fluids such as Pedialyte and oral probiotic econorm.

You can offer yogurt and curd which contain probiotics naturally.

For constipation, try to give dietary fiber rich foods such as vegetables and fruits on daily basis.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
