12 Year Kid, Experiencing Fainting For 8 Years, Migraines. Any Ideas?

My daughter is 12 years old and has been experiencing fainting since pre-K (4 yrs old). For instance, yesterday she woke up feeling sick to her stomach & actually threw up. She did not have an apetite after that and about 1 hour after throwing up she fainted. She said she could feel like " wooshing feeling through her head" She was out for approx 3- 5 minutes. What could it be? I have had a rough diagnosis of hypoglycemia. However, I call it a "rough diagnosis" because the doctor did not do blood tests. My daughter also experiences migraines. But not always at same time.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

As the problem described by you has been persisting for more than 8 years you must have got your child examined and investigated. What have been the findings? These detials would help me in giving a proper guidance. Without these details I can consider the following differential diagnosis:
1. A form of epilepsy
2. Hypoglycaemic attacks
3. Vaso-vagal attack following vomiting.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your daughter all the best.

Regards,
