11 Year Old, Nasal Congestion, Itchy Rash On Face, Usually Allergic. Cure For Symptoms?

My 11 year old son has nasal congestion, itchy rash on his face and neck. The rash started 2 days ago and seems to be spreading more. The nasal congestion started yesterday. 5 days ago he felt as if he was getting sick. We haven't changed anything in the house. He has allergic reactions from fabric softener sheets with fragrance and Round Up weed killer, but neither have been around. Those have usually caused all over body rash with swelling of hands and eyes. That is not the same rash.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

The rash appearing on the head and neck then spreading downward appears to be a viral rash.

Viral rash usually settles down in a week .You could apply calamine lotion for soothing effect and give him oral antihistamines .i would suggest you to get him examined by his doctor for confirmation and investigation .

Regards
Take care.
