Brief Answer:
Needs biopsy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have noted the clinical details and also seen the MRI report. MRI shows a mass lesion on the left side of brain. This can be a tumor (cancer) or infection (such as tuberculosis). Left side of brain controls the speech and right sided movements, so, we can expect problems with speech and movements of right hand/leg due to this mass lesion.

A biopsy of this mass lesion should be done to diagnose it correctly (tumor or infection), so that the correct treatment can be started.

Please get back if you have any follow up queries.

Best wishes,

Brief Answer:
PET scan can help detect presence of cancer or infection in other parts.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

PET scan of whole body helps in detecting the presence of cancer or infection in other parts of body. If any other parts are affected as per PET, it would be better (easier as compared to brain) to biopsy that part. Sometimes, PET may be highly suggestive of cancer in many parts, then, biopsy may be avoided.

Decmax is a steroid to reduce the brain swelling. Levipil XR is a drug to prevent fits (convulsions).

Nothing specific to be done until PET scan reports come.

Thank you for sending the attachments, which are the MRI images. They show mass lesion, as described in my first reply. It can be cancer or infection. PET scan and biopsy will help in confirming the diagnosis.
