Question: Am I getting better or am I getting worse? I was dizzy when prone on
Tue 7th, Wed a sore throat was added to the dizziness when lying down. Thu I was so tired that I took a nap at 2;00pm and awoke at 3:30. Fri I had a hard time falling asleep and got 2 hours less sleep than is usual for me. Today, Sat, my throat is still sore and a tickle in my throat started at 6:00pm causing coughing also at 6:30pm my nose began running. My temp. Fri was 98.6 and this evening my temp. was 98.4. Am I getting better or am I getting worse? Thank for considering my question.

Brief Answer:
usually worsens the first few days

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The most common reason for your symptoms would be an acute viral illness affecting the respiratory tract ( sore throat, coughing, fever etc).

In most viral illness, the symptoms peak about day 2 to 4 then either start to improve or stabilize for a few days then improve.

It is not unusual for symptoms to worsen initially, this is the usual course of these illnesses.

You should start to improve soon. Fluids , rest, medication to help with fever such as paracetamol or ibuprofen (these would also help with the sore throat), can be used.
There are also topical meds for sore throat eg covonia throat spray or chloroseptic.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
Thanks.
