Brief Answer:
Not primarily.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Macg625,

Welcome to Ask a Specialist Service.

Blurring of vision is primarily due to ophthalmic causes like refractive errors, presbyopia, astigmatism, cataract, glaucoma etc. but it is not the early or initial symptom of HIV. It can occur in late or advanced stage of HIV infection. I request you to provide the details of exposure so that I can guide in much better way.

Thank You

I had protected sex about 4 weeks ago. After 2 days I started to have flu like symptoms. scratchy throat, runny nose, aches and pains all over and feeling very tired. I have only had 1 headache no rashes, fever, a cough that lasted for about 20 minutes. my lymph nodes are not swollen. I have been feeling dizzy at times and my vision has been blurry at times. Oh and my belly button was sore and red within those 2 days.

Brief Answer:
You are absolutely safe and risk-free from HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Macg625,

Welcome back and thanks for the follow-up.

You had protected sex with your partner then there is no risk of contracting HIV infection. The flu-like symptoms may be due to seasonal change and not at all related to HIV so just calm down, allay the fear or anxiety and live your life normally.

If still, you want to ask anything else please write to me and I am always here to help you out.

Thank You
