Brief Answer:
The tests are done routinely for every Donor

Detailed Answer:
Hi

For every Routine Surgery,we do Surgical profile. It includes Haemoglobin, Bleeding time, Clotting time, HIV, HbsAg, HCV, Blood Sugar etc.
HSV1 is Herpes Simplex Virus1. Nothing to worry about the test.It is done routinely.
If at all the Donor is harbouring any infection, it can be transferred to the recipient.
So,these tests are done to avoid transmission of infection to recipient.

Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.

hi dr. XXXXXXX

im sorry but i dont quit understand

so if im seropositive and the recipient is seronegative is it possible that i will infect him with hsv1 by donting my kidney to him

so hsv 1 can transmit by donating kidney
doctor
Answered by Dr. Hari Charan Perigela (6 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
It can get transmitted.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
If Kidney is donated by a Seropositive person to a Seronegative one,the recipient may get infections. But,due to availability of Anti Viral drugs, the complications have come down.
