Question: i got a non persistent cough on March 20th. really nothing else. no fever. No pain or aches. never any breathing issues. still kinda got the Cough but I can go almost all day with out coughing. its the furthest thing away from being persistent. I'm breathing fine does not hurt to breath. I can take deep breaths. Work out fine like walk on a treadmill for an hour and still be fine. I've been having a burning sensation in the chest. it comes and goes. one day its in the right chest area next day left then the middle. been going on for about a week. comes and goes. today I decided to try pepcid. first day trying it. took 1 tablet this morning burning feeling was basically gone. took around 11:30 thus morning. Around 6 tonight the burning is back off an on. honestly I feel great and normal other then that.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of GERD related cough is more likely.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the detailed history you have given.
By your history and description possibility of GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease) related cough is more likely.
So take pepcid twice daily on empty stomach for atleast 14 days and see for improvement in cough.
If improving then it is GERD related cough.
If worsening or static then it is something else.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
