I have raised my bed 6 inches at the head I take nexium etc. I eat last meal 4 hrs before bed... still have acid in mouth... only thing that helps is antacid pills during the night? could it be caused by h-pylori .. it is a mouth issue not an issue with the stomach.. I never have reflux from stomach or swallowing issues..just upper throat acid taste and feeling leads to hoarseness etcc...how to treat this other than antacids????

Brief Answer:
Hello

Detailed Answer:

Hi,
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.
I guess you are taking all the possible precautions need to prevent reflux symptoms.
Can continue taking antacid pills if you feel better.
Split the dose of neksium to 20 mg twice a day (20 mg before breakfast and 20 mg before dinner).
Acid reflux is unlikely to be caused by H pylori infection so no need to worry about that.
Acid taste in stomach is usually to acid regurgitating back into mouth from stomach. Rarely in some people especially elderly saliva can accumulate in mouth
due to mild abnormality in swallowing especially in night time during sleeping.
Worthwhile getting a endoscopy done if you feel symptoms are very severe.
Also you can try taking medication like domperidone 10 mg if available over the counter half an hour before dinner.
Antacids are most effective in treating them other options are limited.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
