Brief Answer:
It may regress even without treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

True Bell palsy is a condition that may recover by itself even without treatment.

Treatment may be started in case of symptoms to minimize them or in the first days after the onset.

I think that you can use simple painkillers such as ibuprofen and artificial tears to protect the affected eye.

Discuss with your Neurologist for these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Both acupuncture and Botox may be used for Bell palsy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Both acupuncture and Botox injections are treatment modalities for Bell palsy.

The efficacy of acupuncture still remains to be proven.

Botulinum toxin may help in relaxing the facial muscles after they have developed mass contraction.

So, in my opinion, these are safe symptom treatment modalities that you can use.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
