Hi There, Currently I Am Troubled By Some Odd Symptoms

Question: hi there,

currently I am troubled by some odd symptoms one of which are strange spider veins beneath my breasts (see other question) but also this weird looking rash on my ankle.

Its been there for two months now and although its always changing, it hasnt faded. I would say it doubled in size in the last two months. Its completely painless. Ive tried cortisone ointment but with no success.

My blood work a few months ago was perfectly fine.

what is this and how can I stop it from spreading/make it go away? why is my skin acting weird all over my body suddenly :(

thanks!

Brief Answer:
Are you otherwise healthy?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is difficult to say what it is. Do you have it on other places of your body? Any allergies? Medical illnesses, e.g. liver disease? Do you take any medicine?

The fact it spreads could mean autoimmune disease, e.g. vasculitis. Most of the time, definitive diagnosis can be made on biopsy, but it may not be necessary if you can elaborate on your history as per my questions.

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Hi there and thanks

I dont have these spots anywhere else on my body, at least I think so. In the last months, tiny red dots appeared mostly on my stomach but also on my arms but these look different. Theyre really red and appear isolated and dont look like this rash on my ankle.

I also dont have any allergies, never had one. I am currently not on any medicine, except for some vitamins and the occasional painkiller for my headaches.

I think I am healthy otherwise, though to be honest, those skin issues (this rash and the spider veins mentioned in other questions) really scare me (Ive attached the picture again)
Other than that I should mention that I have a stinging pain under my left rib cage but my ultrasound was fine.

I dont have any liver disease and I think the blood work my doctor did a few months ago didnt show any sign of liver damage.

Brief Answer:
It all looks harmless

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

Thank you for the photos. To me it looks completely benign and you have nothing to worry about. You could try some local steroid ointment for a week or so and see if it goes away. Is there anything in particular you are worried about regarding the skin changes?

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

hi and thank you,

I bought some ointment and will try it now.

I%E2%80%98m mostly worried about the veins on my ribs because of fear its superior vena cava syndrome. Since my skin is and always has been otherwise pretty normal those spots on my ankle are also scaring me.

Sorry for being such a scaredy cat, just not feeling myself lately.

Brief Answer:
It is not superior vena cava syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi again 0000,

There is absolutely nothing to apologize for; it is only natural to worry about bodily changes. I hope that I can reassure you that it is not superior vena cava syndrome, as this presents in a completely different way, e.g. with dilated neck veins and edema of the head and typically arms.

Please write back to me if this does not suffice in comforting you.

Best wishes.
