Question: hi doctor my 10 month old baby has got blisters on her hips and knees.last night she got 101 fever.it seems to be hand foot mouth disease.what to do

Thanks for writing to us.
Based on your description, yes it could be handfoot mouth disease. However I suggest you to confirm the same with your local Pediatrician as sometimes chickenpox too starts similarly with fever.
If confirmed as handfoot mouth disease, no treatment is required apart from paracetamol for fever and plenty of liquids to keep baby hydrated.
If it is chickenpox, acyclovir can be given as per your doctor's advice.
In both cases, you can apply calamine lotion to sooth skin, give daily bath and can try antihistamines like Cetrizine to relieve itching.
