As you explain the situation it might be a viral situation. Usually in some patients especially in smokers or /and allergics the cough after a common cold or a flu may lasts for up to one month
It might be without phlegm ,no fever, no malaise at all.
In such conditions we give antitussive medications such as Diacol or Codeine tablets twice for some days, nothing else

hi I have a cough that is sometimes dry sometime cough with XXXXXXX and a runny nose. Before I did have a sore throat aswell but that is gone

I do not smoke and I have no known allergies. This started after I went 4 days with a sore throat and end up losing my voice 1 night while at work, I work outside mostly and little time in an office. Ive had just the cough with a little bit of phlegm for about a week now. Most of the coughing fits I have are at night while I’m laying in bed or after a bit of over exertion at work or home (ex. shoveling snow).
