Best To Avoid A Doctor Because Nothing Is Affecting My

Question: best to avoid a doctor because nothing is affecting my daily activities. only thing that is affecting me is the mental stress of online reading about hernias. I am 26 years old and the other night I was shaving my pubic area when I noticed one side looked a slight bigger. when I say slight I mean it was really small. I walked outside to tell my fiancee and in that time window it was gone. Then when I read up about hernias it says you can push it back in so that terrifies me. when I touched it, it literally felt like nothing.. It felt just like the other side but like a swelling and went away within seconds. The only reason I'm stressing about this because theres been times lately that I feel a quick, really sudden almost jolt near that area. It doesnt Necessarily "hurt" but I'm good with pain so I'm not sure how to describe it. Its like a quick small pain, like I realized theres a muscle there and goes away and doesnt bother me again. Until another completely random burst later on. I've layed down and coughed, stood up and coughed, had my fiancee feel while I'm coughing/straining, and even the slightest flex there with coughing I panic. but I've not seen a bulge since and this is going on day 3 now. Like I said, I'm not even sure what I saw would be considered a bulge. after reading about hernias I'm trying to think back at wha I saw and I feel I'm telling myself that it could've been a hernia and im making myself more tense Because I'm scared to move as if my intestines are gonna fall out like these graphic images I've seen on Google. Had I not looked up anything, my day to day life has been fine. with a random feeling that feels like a muscle spasm and I move on. Please help

Brief Answer:
any of the fact is not supportive evidence of hernia presence.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query thoroughly and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, you are not having hernia most likely and so do not
panic for the net findings of google.
Here are the reasons to support my explanation for the same

- Hernia when really small or beginning, is almost always a clinical examination finding
or ultrasound evaluation showing defect of the internal layers of inguinal region or
else.
- Once the hernia develops it never disappears, it always pops up with cough, straining
and other measures which raise the intra abdomen pressure.
- There are plenty of precipitating factors as severe weight lifting, constipation, long
term dysuria, heavy push ups, strenuous work and else.

* What you have observed and felt is a casual difference sometimes felt in many
individuals particularly thin built or low fat of pelvis area and it is not hernia actually.

* More panic is via internet exploration of the hernia and its sequences in details which
are really scarring.

I hope this information will help you to understand the issue much better.
Do feel free to discuss further regarding the same.

Wish you a great day ahead without stress of possible hernia.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for the follow up.

* The noticed swelling above few days was most likely momentary changes in tissue
consistency through muscle jerk or else.

Thank you.
