Question: a year ago I was told I had 2 bladder polyps and they should be removed. in pre op they found I had to high of a white blood cell count- treated me for a year and its under control so they rescheduled for another bladder look see. Doc says- the good news is that they have hardly grown but you should have them removed. Do you think it is necessary?

Brief Answer:
Yes they should be removed

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

If there are bladder polyps which are persistent, they should be removed. Even if they have not grown. Sometimes these are low grade malignancies which may not grow much in a year but still they need removal.

Unless we remove them and do the biopsy, we will never know. If they are superficial and low grade then removal alone is usually sufficient.

Hope this helps.
Regards
