To give you a proper answer regarding to Diabetes treatment some more information abot glucose levels are needed;
-HbA1c ( the mean glucose level of the last three months), fasting and postprandial glucose
--Your actual weight and height
-The last level of kidney function ( creatinine level)

Thank you for the reply this all new to me.Ihave no glucose meter to check that do I need one? As far as my weight I'm at 5'11" At the prestine time I'm at 224ibs a month ago 234lbs I'm not on diealies at this time Thanks again Happy Holidays to you and family!!!!!

You need a glucometer and to check HbA1c at laboratory.
If renal function is altered there are not many oral antidiabetics alternative, insulin is the best option.
Anyway HbA1c will give an important information and depending on its result will be decided for the treatment.
