Would Direct Inhalation Of Vaporized Alcohol Affect The Pancreas?

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Dec 2014
Question: would inhaling vaporized alcohol directly affect the pancreas since it bypasses the digestive system? is there any evidence that someone who had been diagnosed with acute pancreatitis should not inhale vaporized alcohol? (aside from obvious risk factors unrelated to pancreatic function)

Brief Answer:
No direct effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello

My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & I will look into your problem.

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Apart from other complications like nerves damage, brain swelling and dementia (in case of long term use) there is no direct effect on pancreas as shown in some researches done so far. But it is usually recommended to avoid in patients of pancreatitis.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
