Brief Answer:
Less likely

Detailed Answer:
HI
Thanks for posting your query .

Many organs in the body have regenerative capacity . As of pancreas is concerned it can also regenerate as long as the injury to pancreas is taken off .

But in case of Chronic pancreatitis, the inciting injury to pancreas is persistent ( that's the reason you are getting repeated attacks of Pancreatitis . If in case the cause for your recurrent pancreatitis is taken care of then your pancreas can heal itself . But the chances are less likely .

Would you be able to make any reccomendations to make my situation more manable? Is tramadol a good option? I take it on a daily basis-keeps it manageable but other times the pain is too much and ER trips are a pain which only helps the immediate problem . By working full time i can keep my mind off it but somedays the pain wears me done. I also take creon enzymes but it helps a bit. My quality of life is awful... Strangest thing is my lipase and anylase always come back normal from the lab but i know im having a severe attack. Why is that?

Brief Answer:
Confirm it as Pancreatitis

Detailed Answer:
HI

More than taking pain medicines treatment should target the cause of your pain . Acute severe attacks will always be associated with Elevated Lipase levels . If they are coming normal then we need to look into some other cause.

In that case get a CT scan Abdomen to look for other cause of your pain .

As of medication is concerned daily medication with pain killers is not advisable . As much as possible avoid pain medication. I advise you can try Tapendolol instead of Tramadol
