Will A Surgically Tied Vein Near The Foreskin Turning Painful And Blue Heal On Its Own?

Question: Hello...

The vein that used to go up to my foreskin was of course cut and tied... and now that everything is healing nicely, this vein ending has become hard and visibly blue under the shaft skin. It’s a little painful to touch but not very. Will it go away?

Brief Answer:
Phlebitis most probably

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It seems that probably you have undergone surgery of circumcision. Sometimes complication like phlebitis may occur after the surgery. As you suggested that there is painful hard blue lesion underneath the shaft skin, I think probably it may be phlebitis.

It is an inflammatory condition of the vein. Do not worry. It may reduce as the time passes.
However, you may take a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and vitamin C tablets. That should be done after consulting your surgeon.

I hope this would help you in your recovery.

Any other query, you are most welcome.

Thanks.
