Brief Answer:
Bronchoscopy is endoscopy of lungs.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the reports you have attached.

Answer to your 1st question.

X ray report is suggestive of right upper lobe collapse with pulled trachea. This is commonly seen with old healed tuberculosis. But we should rule out active tuberculosis and pneumonia. Her sputum report is isolating klebseilla. This is suggestive of bacterial lung infection. But this is not 100% accurate. For accurate diagnosis, bronchoscopy is must.

Answer to your 2nd question.

To assess severity, I need to see chest x ray film and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) report. So please let me know if PFT is done or not.

Answer to your 3rd question.

Day to day care depends on diagnosis. But better to avoid dust, pollution, chemicals etc. Take high protein diet like pulses. Do deep breathing exercises.

Answer to your 4th question.

Bronchoscopy is endoscopic examination of lungs. In this a camera connected with thin wire is inserted in lungs via nose. It is excellent for diagnosis in Collapsed lung like in her case.
So her next step should be bronchoscopy, PFT and CT scan.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your cousin. Thanks.
