Why Is Zoloft Advised While On Cymbalta?

Question: Daughter has mental illness--has been taking Cymbalta for a couple of weeks, now is switching to Zoloft. Which is better? Blood relatives take zoloft which is the reason for switching.

I can understand your concern. Zoloft is good and safe drug compared to Cymbalta. Zoloft is Sertraline and Cymbalta is Duloxetine. Sertraline is a SSRI drug and had good efficacy. So switching to Sertraline is not a bad idea.

Sertraline is safer and also equally efficacious to Duloxetin so this is the reason of switch.

Dosage is 25 mg - she is fidgity and anxious- goes after 3 days to 50. Last night was the first time for Zoloft.

Yes for some time she will feel more anxious compared to before. This is a normal behaviour with Sertraline when the drug is started. This will reduce in some days. No need to worry regarding that.
