Hi there

Thanks for the query

Are you having pain in the knee joint?

Is the back pain and knee pain separate?

Does pain in the back move downwards to the legs?

Any tingling, numbness over the legs?

Knee joint pain could be due to arthritis of the knee. You will need to get an xray of the knee to confirm.

Back pain could be due to degenerative changes in the spine bones. If there is pain that moves to the legs then it could be nerve compression in the back. Avoid bending forward or lifting heavy objects. You may need an xray and MRI lumbosacral spine to confirm the problem.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Detailed Answer:
This could be due to degenerative changes in the spine. If the pain is severe then best to visit a doctor as soon as possible to rule out urgent conditions.

If these changes are gradual and chronic then it could more likely be due to degenerative changes in the spine.

Do get an xray of the knee and MRI lumbosacral spine to have a better understanding of the problem.

She can avoid bending knee much, avoid squatting and cross leg sitting. Apply Volini gel and warm wet cloth for relief to the knee and lower back. She can take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days after meals if she does not have stomach ulcer, gastritis or allergy to it.
