Why Have My Toes In The Right Foot Been Getting Numb Every Night?

default
Posted on Fri, 8 Jan 2021
Question: The toes on my right foot have been getting numb every night around the same time, about 8 pm, and only at night. There might be a little numbness or tingling on my left foot, too, but so slight I'm not sure. I have read that there are many possible causes, but since it happens only at night, does this give a clue as to the cause? I am not on my feet all day but rather at a computer a few hours and moving around a lot the rest of the time.

Brief Answer:
Paraesthesia of the leg only at night.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Although there is no specific reason that I could find for numbness at night, I think it may be related to prolonged posture in front of the computer for hours and finally getting up for other chores.
What you describe is called Paraesthesia, nerve problem. It could be trauma to nerve because of posture or reduces blood supply to the nerve because of posture. Sometimes yes Vitamin B has to be taken for longer duration. You can get serum Vitamin B12 levels at the local lab and see for yourself if you are deficient. I also listen to some alcoholics who complain of numbness just when they are sloshed.
There is no real explanation but it could be during those times. I also suggest to get Fasting blood sugar done.
