Question: My juvederm nightmare continues. Had injections in nasiolabial folds. It I thought i was bruising but it wasn’t going away. Went to plastic surgeon who administered dissolvent. It made zero difference. That was a month ago and I still have discoloration that I was hoping would go away on own although after 3 months since injection not getting any better.

Today I wake up with red bumps on area of discoloration that are slightly painful and red? It this a delayed infections? Should I be concerned and why is this happening 3 months after injections.

I have been struggling with discoloration, inflamed skin around my mouth where filler were administered for 3 months. I’ve been to a plastic surgeon and derm. Both thought Tyndall effect but dissolvent didn’t work. Is there anyway I can have inflammatory Granuloma? Im desperate for answers and ways to resolve this.

I did go see a costetic dermatologist today and she recommended another dissolvent treatment Hylenex to get rid of remaining filler. She was fearful of biofilm because of the emerging bumps. She also said we could do a treatment of antibiotics or anti inflammatory meds can’t remember in conjunction.

In your experience does Hylenex degrade native tissue? And do you think my skin will heal and return to normal eventually with these two treatments?

Oh so I told I would have more questions. I chose to get them disolved and it has been 24 hours and there is no change. I continue to have inflammation and burning. The doctor told me this should not be happening and if it was truly juvederm it should have dissolved as I have had 3 treatments. I agree. I’m taking Benadryl and monitoring.

I initially went to a medspa with and board certified internist who administered the treatment. I know now she is an inexoeroenced injector but it never occurred to my she might have injected me with something else. Now I’m terrified I am having an allergic reaction to something I can’t dissolve. A foreign substance. Hypothetically if this did happened are there treatment options? How do you get it out?
