Brief Answer:
See detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

Among genders, females are more prone for knee problems. This is because of the hormonal changes after menopause. The decrease in estrogen level in blood alters mineral homeostasis in bone resulting in osteoporosis and low wait bearing capacity. This is managed by hormone replacement therapy.

Q-angle is the angle between the lines representing the pull of quadriceps muscle and the axis of patellar tendon. This angle is more in females compared to males(around 14 in males and 17 in females).Increased Q angle makes knee joint more vulnerable for diseases like patellar subluxation. Also,Q angle is increased in genu valgum, which much more common in females than males.

Hope this will answer your query.
Thank you.
