Question: Hello, I am 48 years old female 5 foot 1 inches and weigh 52kg. I have had two readings of blood pressure. the first was three days ago at work and it was 159/96. Today on the weekend when I don't work I brought a blood pressure monitor from the chemist. After resting when I got home I used the new blood pressure monitor and the reading was 153/99. Should I be concerned and should I inform my GP.Thank's for your time and assistance.

Hello Ma'am

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your attached query in detail

Yes certainly these blood pressure levels are considered abnormal. It points to Hypertension.

It's advisable to consider initiating antihypertensive therapy via oral medications after discussing with your physician.
