Whom To Contact When Diagnosed With Arthropods Borne Injury?

Posted on Thu, 15 Sep 2016
Question: I have been diagnosed with some form of arthropods bites. I have had the symptoms for years and no one can seem to diagnose it correctly. I have sores on right shoulder, arm and the rest of the upper body. Doctors have diagnosed to use triamcinolope cream, but it only temporarily masks the condition but not a cure. Went to doctor in XXXXXXX and gave me antibiotics for ten days for flu. Helped out the skin condition for about two weeks and then skin condition came back in full I don't know what else to do to treat this condition??? What type of specialist can I contact that can help me out for arthropods. My primary care and dermatologist is bewildered on this, and cant seem to help me out????

Brief Answer:
Presumably arthropods borne injury

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

Arthropods may cause injury by biting, stinging but in the United States,
lesions caused by arthropod bites and stings are so diverse and variable
that it is rarely possible to identify the precise causative organism
without a bona fide specimen and taxonomic expertise.
It is quite unusual for the sores to persist for so many years after the presumable primary injury by some arthropod .Other causes of persistent sores/ulcers should be sought for. Please upload close-up of some of the lesions on arm or shoulder possible.

Ivermectin (22,23-dihydroavermectin) is active at low doses
against a wide range of helminths and ectoparasites,as a single dose of 150–200 μg/kg-can be taken empirically even in absence of obvious infection. The adverse effects of ivermectin in therapeutic doses are minimal.
You can see a Physician to exclude other causes of chronic ulcers particularly mycobacterial (tuberculosis, leprae infection).
