doctor
Answered by Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi (21 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Commonly 12 hours before you should stop drinking.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Alcohol Saliva Test is commonly used strip or swab test for detection of recent alcohol use. Though the detection depends upon a number of factors like amount of alcohol used, metabolic factors in body, body structure etc. In general the test usually detects alcohol use in 12 hours preceding the test time.

So you should abstain yourself from using alcohol for at least 12 hours before test.

Thanks.

What's QED? I've seen reports that they can detect alcohol within 80 hours. Drank last night and have my test Tuesday morning.

Answered by Dr. Seikhoo Bishnoi (2 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
The detection time in most individuals is 12 hours.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again

It is a test for detection of alcohol in saliva. Oral swab is used and results are rapid. In most cases the detection time is about 12 hours. Because alcohol metabolism occurs rapidly. Follow the methods I have mentioned that will help to increase the metabolism.

Thanks.
