Brief Answer:
I do not think both have casual relationship

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Although it is known fact that risperdal lowers the seizure threshold but this usually happens in this who have history of epilepsy or those who are predisposed.

Onset of epilepsy exclusively due to use of risperdal is very rare, if any. It is possible that you have predisposition to epilepsy due to some brain insult or due to genetic factors and risperdal brought that predisposition to overt manifestation.

I hope this answers you.
If you have more questions feel free to write back to me.
Thanks and regards.

I had seizures when i was young but the neurologist didn't confirm epilepsy and said when adolescence passed i would be ok. In fact i wasseizure free from 1997 til May 2010. I have a daughter, born in 2001 with no problems. What may have caused this? I have no damage in my brain, i'm under medication and continue with seizures. Probably due to stress. I can't sleep, i can't relax, i'm scared because my seizures aren't controlled. I drive and have a normal life but... no anti-depressants work, or anti anxiety pills either. I went to 5 collegues of your and they all said i wasn't bipolar. Please help me. Leviracetam has really killed the XXXXXXX in living, most days.

Brief Answer:
Probably risperdal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

With the available details I think risperdal can be attributed to your new onset of seizures as there was predisposition or in other words you were susceptible.

Now regarding the treatment options although Levetiracetam is good option but if it is not effective conventional anti epileptic should be tried before calling it resistant epilepsy.

I will be glad to see you in person but we have the limitation of questions and answers.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks again.

Brief Answer:
You can see a psychiatrist independently

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

As I see, there is many overlaps of disorders I feel there is need for through evaluation as it will give the overall picture which can be treated in comprehensive manner. Without proper evaluation I do not think anybody can suggest you a medicine including me. I can say that you need a antidepressant for anxiety, depression and stress but what will be best fit can be decided only with due consideration of problem.

I, therefore, requesting you to see a psychiatrist in person independently as previous episodes may color the presentation and there may not be full effort to make a diagnosis in appropriate manner. In case you prefer online thing (although I will prefer in person over online) you may approach me at icliniq.com/ashok as I also offer online consultation, mostly for second opinion.

I hope this answers you further.
In case you have more query I can assist you further.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for my future patients.
