Brief Answer: cramping after taking Misoprost is normal Detailed Answer: Hi, You are likely to get vaginal bleeding after 6-7 hours of taking misoprost tablet. In my practice, I usually give misoprost after 48 hours of mifepristone and you should be in contact with a gynecologist in case of any heavy bleeding. Misoprost causes contraction of the womb and tries to expel the products, but at the same time it has certain side effects like you are experiencing--cramps. But if it hurting very badly, you should `consult your doctor and take some antispamodic drug. In case you don't see any bleeding even after the appropriate time, you should wait and may repeat the drug after 3 days. Sometimes, the drug fails to act and either there is no bleeding at all or little bleeding. But in 90% cases it is successful. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you need clarifications. Regards
