Brief Answer:
ceflan is cephalosporin group antibiotic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
Ceflan is cephalexin is a cephalosporin antibiotic given to treat number of bacterial infections. It can be given to treat skin infections( boils, abscesses, open sores), ear infections, bone and joint infection, sore throat, urinary tract infection etc.
It is a broad spectrum antibiotic ie covers and protects against multiple bacteria. However it is not effective against methicillin resistant staph aureus( MRSA)
In your case, your doctor diagnosed you to have bacterial skin infection and that's why prescribed it. In a case of bacterial infection we usually start with an oral broad spectrum antibiotic and continue it for a week or ten days. Usually by this time, skin lesions resolve. If lesions do not improve or seem to flare up, we may go with pus culture and sensitivity, so that the organism can be detected and most effective antibiotic( according to culture and sensitivity report) can be started

From my side, I would advise that along with prescribed oral antibiotics, use topical antibiotic cream too like fusidic acid cream for faster healing of lesions.

Hope this helped.
Take care
