Brief Answer:
stage four cirrhosis needs transplant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through your details and i appreciate your concerns.

Cirrhosis is a late stage of scarring of the liver caused by many forms of liver diseases and conditions, such as hepatitis and chronic alcoholism. Cirrhosis occurs in response to damage to your liver. Each time your liver is injured, it tries to repair itself. In the process, scar tissue forms. As cirrhosis progresses, more and more scar tissue forms, making it difficult for the liver to function.
By your question it seems that you are asking about stage 4 cirrhosis. In stage 4, the liver is so severely damaged that it can't function normally and liver transplant is the only option left. The stage when the damage cannot be reversed – is called cirrhosis. Cirrhosis can lead to a number of complications, including liver cancer.

I can give you a much better professional advice if you can somehow attach your biopsy or fibroscan report with follow up.

If you don't have them with you then just answer-
"have progressed to another stage"-How serious was your doctor while telling this to you and what did he suggested.
I would try to make a guess out of it.

Though not asked yet i would like to share-

Some food plans that would be helpful
-Whole grains are very beneficial to consume. These can be in the form of XXXXXXX whole wheat bread or cereal, brown rice, whole grain pasta, grains such as whole oats, wild rice, rye, oatmeal and corn are also beneficial and can be taken if suits your food pattern.
-Fruits and vegetables should be a significant part of any diet to help in recovering from a liver disease. They are full of essential nutrients and are easy to digest. When on hepatitis recovery diet follow a high carbohydrate diet,Fat contents of diet should be very low. However Olive oil, canola oil and flaxseed oil are all healthy fats that are recommended as part of a diet for patients with fibrosis
-Healthy proteins in the form of low-fat milk and dairy products along with lean meats, beans, eggs and soy products can also be a part of a healthy liver diet.

Now lets move on to
Foods to Avoid
-Processed food items
-Hydrogenated oils
-Avoid alcohol and smoking.
Thank you.

Follow up: Dr. Ramesh Kumar (2 hours later)
I guess what I am looking for is a form of cirrhosis. I have had cirrhosis for years and now he says a have a new form, like fibrosis. When they did the liver scan they called it Stage II out of three stages. Does that help? My symptoms are still fatigue, GI upsets, lack of appetite, some loss of weight and a little itching. I do not have any jaundice are ascites yet.

Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Fibrosis is the first stage of liver scarring. When scar tissue builds up and takes over most of the liver, this is a more serious problem called cirrhosis . Scar tissue cannot perform any of the jobs of normal liver cells, and this causes a person with cirrhosis to slowly become ill. Each time your liver is injured, it tries to repair itself. In the process, scar tissue forms. The liver damage done by cirrhosis generally can't be undone. But if liver cirrhosis is diagnosed early and the cause is treated, further damage can be limited .
You are asymptomatic and in stage 2(mild to modrate group).
You need nit to worry at all.
Just follow the diet i adviced earlier.
Take sylimarin(milk of thistle) liver rejenuvator daily.Itching will go away once liver starts rejenuvating itself. For appetite take external enzyme supplements.
No alcohol.
Repeat ultrasound every 1 year.
Note: For further follow up on digestive issues share your reports here and Click here.
