Brief Answer:
Povidone and neosporin

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

A gangrenous organ or limb in itself is not a focus for transmission of infection especially if there is ischemic gangrene involved and the part is not infected. If the contact was with intact skin of the kids then local antiseptic such as povidone after washing the area , followed by topical first aid antibiotics like Neosporin can be applied for prevention of any transmission.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Yes, dry gangrene is much less likely than wet gangrene for transmission of infection. The answer would still remain the same. One should still practice caution and use the antiseptic and topical antibiotics.
