Brief Answer:
Could just be anal fissure

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I know that seeing blood creates a sense of emergency but in most cases its due to some benign condition like anal fissure. Since you are taking laxatives, it means that constipation is in background. Therefore I will advise to drink cleaner water in more quantity.

Regardless all bleeds stop by themselves within a day. So even if there is another cause, the bleed will stop by itself.

Since it was fresh blood, the source of bleed is in the colon, rectum or anus. It can be easily visualized by colonoscopy. So you can fix an appointment with your physician, who will guide you further for colonoscopy.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
