What Might Be Causing These Cat Allergies?

Question: Is it possible for me to develop an allergy to a cat that I have had for 8 years?

My cat has had clean checkups every year. Also, I have another cat that I have had for 14 years, and I do not have the same sneezing, watery eyes, etc. that I do with the 8 year old.

If you get water eyes, sneezing when close to 8 years old cat, that is suggestive that you are allergic to its hair or skin although it is clean after yearly check ups.

I advise to stay away from your 8 year old for a few days, if no allergy symptoms, then, it is from that cat. If still present, further allergy testing advised for proper evaluations.
