Brief Answer:
furosemide and bumetanide

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Edema of the legs can definitely occur with heart failure. It can also occur with-(1)liver or kidney failure,
(2)infection of the legs,
(3)venous disease (varicose veins or previous deep vein thrombosis),
(4)low levels of protein in the body
(5)side effect of medication

The other commonly used diuretics are furosemide or bumetanide. Like other diuretics they can cause abnormal levels of electrolytes eg potassium, uric acid

If the excess fluid is related to heart failure, then your doctor can also give your other medications along with the diuretics, to try and improve or stabilize the function of the heart.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Have tried Furosomide and it was not as effect as Turosomide. No infection in legs or other symptoms you mention; only the swelling. A blood panel was done last week and everything was normal or better.

I suggest it nis congestive heart failure do to my age, You are out of bullets.

Brief Answer:
bumetanide was also mentioned, not diagnosed with age

Detailed Answer:
HI

Heart failure not diagnosed based on age , it is not one of the factors used for diagnosis.
Venous disease is more common as persons age.

Bumetanide was also mentioned and can be tried, if you have not tried that one, if it is heart failure.

Glad the blood panel was good, this would rule out liver or kidney disease once these were tested.

Heart failure is diagnosed not based on age but on symptoms and history. Normally there is a history of uncontrolled blood pressure or some other factor that caused the heart to fail. Heart failure is diagnosed when the heart cannot meet the demands of the body.

Heart failure patients have shortness of breath due to fluid also building up in the lungs. Fluid may also build up in the abdomen causing a condition called ascites.
Also their doctors normally suggest an echo to find out the degree of heart failure.

If you do have these issues, history of uncontrolled blood pressure in the past causing heart failure, shortness of breath due to fluid build up in the chest , fluid in the abdomen, then you need an echo to look at the heart function so you can see the extent of the failure.
