Question: Hello dr

Brief history :
27 y old male , medically free , circumcised , STDs free

I had one insertive penile to vaginal exposure to girl unkown status , in high risk country ( thialand )
I used condom but broken last 2 min maximum , I asked her many times about her status she said I%E2%80%99m not sick and I have 2 child

In same day 16 hours I started my PEP TLD

And PEP completed with perfect adherence and no further exposure

3 days post Last dose of PEP , I did 4th generation HIV combo test which came back negative , also all other STDs ..Negative

And also I don%E2%80%99t have symptoms , feeling fine except anxiety

What is your opinion dr about my risk and my test after 31 days post exposure ( combo test from vein )?

Hi,
Your PEP (TLD) is highly effective.. Moreover you had started your PEP within 24 hours. So you are completely safe from HIV.
As per protocol for PEP recommended by international guidelines, HIV antibody tests have to be performed on
day 0, 1month, 3 months and 6 months. Up to 6 months you have to either abstain from sexual activities with your partners or to have protected sex. After 6 months, seeing the nonreactive test for HIV, you can be ascertained that you are totally free from HIV.
In your patient profile in this HCM site it was mentioned that your gender is female and in your query you had started with that I am a 27 year old male!
