Brief Answer:
2-12 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I suppose you're asking about HSV-2, right? HSV-2 may present 2-12 days after transmission. 4 days is the most likely time interval between transmission and disease. I got a little confused by the "severe flu" symptoms that you mentioned in your question. The Flu is a different kind of disease which may present equally fast (1-2 days after exposure usually).

One month's time is too much for HSV.

I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
