Hi,

Thanks for the query.

Let me answer your query in the chronological order:

(1) We require General guidance on Vaccination schedule for my 20 days old child?

If you need a schedule its at WWW.WWWW.WW
General advice is: vaccines are for the benefit of the baby, so should preferably be taken at given age as per schedule. Vaccines are proven safe and not harmful. Some vaccines may cause pain and fever for a day. There are some vaccines called optional vaccines, which may be costly but may cover some other specific diseases. Some vaccines may be once in lifetime and some may be needed to take repeatedly.

(2) Gets Hiccups 2 to 3 times a day. Which position to adopt and what should be ideally done when he gets Hiccups?

See the image attached. Keep baby in same position for 20 minutes. Position 1 and 3 is easy for young babies, XXXXXXX slowly on left side of back in this position. If hiccoughs don't settle in 30 minutes, it may stop on crying on its own. If it lasts 30 minutes, may need medicines only rarely.

(3) Any other recommended liquid apart from mother’s milk?

Nothing else till 6 months age in normal healthy good weight infants. Medicines may be an excuse.

(4) Red rashes on body which appear & disappear every now & then?

If they disappear in a day, its normal. If they last for 3-4 days, often it can be related to fungal infection or allergy.

(5) Passes motion once in every 3 days (What to do if he does not gets motion)?

Passing motions once in 3 days is considered to be a normal entity but if doesn't pass more than a week then it would be better to see a Pediatrician.

(6) Other recommended baby handling tips & medicine?

No medicines recommended unless some problem, handling tips can be read (images) at http://www.newbornbabyzone.com/baby-care/the-dos-and-donts-newborn-baby-care-pics/ or you may buy a book WWW.WWWW.WW You may need to ask any specific details if you would like to know more from a doctor. The writeup for this answer will be huge. One needs to understand that babies are delicate soft and immature and they need to be fed, cuddled, loved and taken care of.

(7) Private Hospital is preferred or Govt Vaccination is ok?

OK, just confirm if they maintain cold chain for vaccination. Confirm that they carry vaccines in ice and oral polio vaccine temperature monitor square is not turned black.

(8) He cries a lot for mother milk any other liquid we can provide?

Let there me no restriction on mothers milk, give as much. If you feel like starting something else, you may need to prove weight loss or no weight gain for 2 weeks.

(9) During rainy days how to protect the child from not getting cold & infection?

Avoid contact with wetness, rains, wet people. Avoid contact with sick people. Avoid kissing, give vaccines as per schedule. Avoid atop milk and bottle feed.

(10) Sunlight till what time in the morning is fine. Should his entire body be exposed to sunlight?

Before 8 am only. Don't expose eyes. Don't expose more than 20 minutes. Back is fine.

Lots of Mosquitoes in our area, how to protect the child any upfront Vaccination?

There are no vaccines for mosquito, but there are proven safe mosquito repellent creams like Odomos. You may apply over open parts except eyes, nose, mouth.

I admire your patience to ask 10 queries in one go, keep it up.

Hope this answers your query. In case of any doubts, I am available for the follow ups.

Regards.
