Brief Answer:
medicine is not given in every case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your query in details,
Firstly Hepatitis B has no cure however patient can live a normal life with it.
Medications are only used when patient is symptomatic or if AST and ALT are > upper normal limits and HBV DNA count on PCR is very high(please mention them)

However in general for adults combination of hepatitis A and B vaccine (Twinrix) uses a 4-dose regimen at 0, 7, 21-30 days, and 12 months is given.
But as said earlier HepB can not be eradicated completely in patients infected with it.
h. Liver enzymes and HBsAg status and HBV DNA PCR maybe done regularly every 6 to 12 months,

Please attach the report of various tests to suggest whether you need antiviral or not.
Also mention your symptoms.

Thank you.

ALT and AST were at normal limits, awaiting HBV DNA results. But if HBV DNA is high,
what treatment would you recommend?

CT reveals also of PULMONARY FIBROSIS. Whats your recommendation?

Hello again my dear patient,
Antivirals are usually used to restrict the virus,
I use Entecavir on my patient in doses starting from 0.5mg once daily empty stomach(atleast one hour). The doses are then gradually increased to 1 mg.
Medicine is used till the titer levels of HBV DNA returns back to normal again.
Hope i was helpful,
