Hi, ive been suffering with another sinus infection, it started with a cold, then i had to fly, and from that it turned into this sinus infection. Tons of pressure, headache, body ache, no energy, and mucus which is stuck in my frontal sinus it seems. I dont have mucus in my nose, it seems stuck up higher and i have to "snort" it down. ive had it for over two weeks but it just wont go away, is there any magic to get this cleared out besides antibiotics? ive been suffering from sinus infections for 5 years, and all colds seem to turn into sinus infections. Also, antibiotics dont ever seem to help. thanks!

Brief Answer: Steam inhalations Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the query I understand your concern, it is very annoying to have a sinus infection. Nost infections are due to stasis of secretion in the sinus which should usually drain into your nose and throat I suggest the following things to you 1. Steam inhalations help in draining the sinuses and also provide symptomatic relief. I also ask my patients to drop half a teaspoon of Vicks vaporub into the water 2. Otrivin nasal drops every 6th hourly will also help drain the sinuses and also releive you of the stuffy nose 3. If none of the above works approach a ENT surgeon for a FESS operation to clean and drain the sinus 4. Antiobiotics help to prevent chronic sinusitis 5 . Avoid dusty and cold environment as much as possible 6. Keep your hands clean and be careful around people with respiratory infections I hope I was of help, if you have any furthe queries please get back to me I wish you good health Regards
