Brief Answer: Bacterial infection of digestive tract. Detailed Answer: Hello! Thank you for the query. Such symptoms can be caused by bacterial infection of digestive tract. This is the most common reason. Irritated tongue can be caused by yeast infection which associates bacterial infection of digestive tract. Acid reflux disease can also cause sore tongue. Due to bad bacteria presence in the intestines, there is no proper amount of good bacteria. This causes bad function of whole digestive tract. It leads to constipation and/or diarrhea, mucus instead of stool (liquid discharge you have noticed), bloating. As you are close to the 50, you should also be checked if there is no other large intestine issue (like colon cancer). I suggest you to visit your doctor, have blood work and stool test. If there will be any blood in stool, colonoscopy should be done. In case of bacterial infection, antibiotics along with probiotic should be prescribed.
