Brief Answer:
Surgery can help in bringing long term relief.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You have disc degeneration at multiple levels. The further degeneration can be prevented with regular physiotherapy. The already compressed nerve roots are the cause of your pain. Maintaining proper disc hydration with lots of oral fluids can help in decreasing the nerve compression. Oral muscle relaxants methylcobalamin supplements and medicines like gabapentin can also give short term relief. In case the pain is unbearable then surgical decompression of nerve roots can help.

I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr. Praveen Tayal.
