Brief Answer:
My suggestion.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Elavil 100 mg is an adequate dose for depresssion and it is not so advisable to combine with ambien as it may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating.

In elderly people like you may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination.

You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications.

Also, avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you.

Discuss with your treating doctor regarding these issues and about the risk-benefit ratio.

Currently, if I was your treating doctor, l would like to suggest benzodiazepines like clonazepam to regulate your sleep.

Hope this information would help you.
