What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Person With Congenital Leaky Heart Valves?

Question: I have one congenital leaky valve that is giving me significant issues. I also have 2 other leaky valves which evidently aren't as serious. I also have a hole in my heart that is small and the Dr. says won't give me any problems.

I am 90, female, in otherwise good condition. I want to know my life expectancy with this heart condition.

You are reporting to have congenital leaky valves and a small hole in your heart. As long as you don't have signs of heart failure (dyspnea, shortness of breath) or pulmonary edema you shouldn't worry your life expectancy is the same as normal peoples your age.

In case you have signs of heart failure then your life expectancy is 2-5 years.

I do have signs of heart failure. My Dr. reports a weak heart. I have fainted, have shortness of breath. Knowing this, would you decrease my life expectancy to less than 2 years?
